"71 & Still Giving Light"
Seventy-One and Still Giving Light
An old lamp found in a barn. A father who saw something worth restoring. And a light that still had a purpose.
In this personal pop-in episode of The Kingdom Corner, Matt reflects on turning seventy-one through the memory of an antique lamp his dad refurbished. Once dismissed as worthless, the restored lamp became something beautiful—and an enduring picture of God’s patient work in our lives.
With gratitude and honesty, Matt shares lessons he is still learning: remaining teachable, holding expectations with humility, making room for people, and using the experiences and opportunities God has given him.
Whatever season of life you’re in, there is still someone to love, something to learn, and some good you can do.
In this episode:
- Learning from people who see things differently.
- Keeping commitments while trusting God with outcomes.
- Making time for friendship and meaningful conversation.
- Allowing even our mistakes to become wisdom we can share.
- Letting our light shine so that others glorify our Father in heaven.
