In this episode, Matt begins chapter 11 of Henry Cloud’s Integrity, “Getting Better All the Time.” Cloud tells the story of a man whose drive to grow carried into his work, relationships, hobbies, and faith. His story raises a question for all of us: Are we simply maintaining what we have, or are we making room to become more?

Matt reflects on why growth asks us to be willing beginners, even when our first attempts are awkward. He shares the curiosity of young Eddie, who visits his study full of questions, and considers what happens when life’s hurts diminish our appetite to learn. Ephesians 4:23 brings the conversation home: we can keep being renewed in the spirit of our minds.
