Chapter 3 (Part 1)
Show Notes
Integrity: More Than Honesty
When most people hear the word integrity, they think of honesty—and rightly so. But in today's Reading Room, Dr. Henry Cloud invites us to discover a much richer meaning.
Integrity is not merely telling the truth or living morally. It is becoming a whole person. It is having every part of our character working together as God designed it to work.
Cloud argues that success in business, ministry, marriage, parenting, leadership, and friendships is not ultimately determined by talent alone, but by the character of the person behind the talent. Gifts may open doors, but integrity determines what happens after we walk through them.
In this episode we explore the deeper meaning of integrity as wholeness, integration, and soundness of character. We also begin examining the six dimensions of character that Cloud says enable a person to flourish in every area of life.
As you listen, consider this question:
When you hear the word "integrity," do you primarily think of honesty—or do you think of wholeness?
Key Scriptures
"The integrity of the upright guides them..."
